About
Hi, I’m Ann. I am not a chef–actually, I am an engineer. I just love to cook, and I love to share what I cook with my friends. I’ve been threatening them with starting my own food blog for years I think, and asking them to help me name it, but a while ago I actually carried through on my promise.
Right now, I don’t have many people to cook for, so some of these creations are just “for one or two or three” … I hope you multiply and share my recipes. Or enjoy them when you have a night to yourself and you need a special treat just for you.
I am a bit of a health freak, so I almost always cut the sugar and fat back, and I use a lot of vegetables and fresh herbs in my cooking. I keep fresh herbs in pots and bring them in in the wintertime so I have fresh herbs year round. My mom was a registered dietician before she retired, so she taught me a lot about eating that I don’t think most people know. I will try to share her wisdom with you as well.
If you want to know more about me, Ally from Ally’s Kitchen interviewed me and I think her article really sums up what I’m all about (at least at this point in my life). Ally and I met through this common interest in food and have become good friends in cyberspace, definite kindred spirits are we. Go read her interview with me …
To contact me, just leave a comment below and I will reply via email. I read all my comments and do try to respond to all of them!

Hi Annie! Guess ~ who? Of course it is your food loving Sis, Jill! Anyway, I wanted to let you know I made a fabulous eggplant, zucchini and chicken curry yesterday! It was soooo yummy! That time of year for the fresh veggies! I am in the process of saving that lovely eggplant for winter use (who doesn’t love eggplant parmesan {baked not fried}? Love the blog!!

Hey, girl! Jenny from Kitchen Psycho here. For some reason I haven’t visited your site until now! But I wanted to tell you what a wonderful support you’ve been for us, sharing our links and giving great comments and all… We deeply appreciate the love!
So you’re looking for a guest blogger. You’re welcome to read through my writing styles on http://www.kitchenpsycho.com. Typically, I write as if I’m talking directly to the reader. I try to make everything pretty light-hearted, since it’s about food, of course! And I was an English major in college, so grammar is a big deal to me.
Since it’s YOUR blog, I’d be blogging for YOU, not myself and my blog. I think that’s important to have you know. I, too, am very concerned about our environment and the quality of our food. (Watching documentaries these days has troubled me to no end, so I have to keep that down to a minimum or I would absolutely lose my mind and become an activist!)
If you’re interested, let me know what you’re looking for!

Hello, Kindred Spirit! I’ve been watching your little venture just blossom and bloom, and I am so impressed and inspired with what you have created here!
One of my resolutions for 2012 is to develop an actual food blog and Facebook page, instead of just posting all my recipes everywhere and bombarding people with my Pinterest. I would love for you to be my mentor! Let me know what you think, and what your consultancy fees/requirements/bartering needs are.
Thanks!!
Nikki

There is a funny poster called “10 Things To Never Say To A Photographer” that I just got off of Facebook. I love for you to see it. I’m not sure how to get it to you. Maybe I can find you on Facebook.

Hi, Ann, hope you’re doing well. I was just wondering if you’d ever like to do a guest post for the Full Belly Sisters blog. I just think your approach to real, whole food is so lovely. No pressure, of course, just thought I’d put it out there, in case you’re interested…
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Hi Nikki!
My name is Megan and I’m with Whimsically Homemade. Here’s just some background on us. Whimsically Homemade is a blog that my friend Emily and I started back in December. We are still relatively small, but we are working on our networking. Anyway, we’ve decided to start doing a weekly post on Fridays of our favorite finds though out the week. Your Black Bean, Corn & Avocado Confetti Pizza post made our list for this week. I was wondering if it would be okay for us to use a couple of your pictures and link back to your blog? We both really enjoy your site and it would be an honor for us to share you with what few readers we do have. Thanks for your time in advance.
Sincerely,
Megan and Emily

Hi Ann, I follow you on Facebook and love so many of your recipes…and only tonight noticed that you are an engineer, too! I don’t often find other female engineers, let alone ones who enjoy cooking…and photography.
May 15, 2012 at 10:59 pm
Hello Mary! You are right … it is not often you run across other female engineers that like to cook. Thank you for taking the time to say hi. It’s very nice to “meet” you

May 24, 2012 at 9:21 pm
Hi, What’s the best way to print out a recipe? Thanks!
May 26, 2012 at 6:40 pm
Hi Julie,
I am using a free wordpress account for my blog so I have very limited abilities to add things like a “print this recipe” button. I did find a cool way to do this though … go to http://www.printwhatyoulike.com/ and enter in the url for the post you want to print. Select the center area (where the recipe is), then click hide images. Click the Print button and preview the recipe. You will probably only need to print the first page, maybe the second. The rest will be links and comments that you probably don’t care about.
Let me know if you have any problems printing!
Thanks for asking,
Ann
